What this is
Econschool is a free learning resource for economics and the mathematics under it — the material that serious study assumes. Lectures, courses, and solved problems, with the full working shown throughout.
Nearly everything here is free: the lectures on YouTube, the courses, the problem library, and the resources.
A sensible path
The courses are meant to be worked through in order: the mathematics first, then probability and statistics, then economics itself. More are being added over time; start with what is there and build up.
- Learn from the courses and lectures. Begin with the mathematics. Each lesson pairs a video with written notes, worked at the level graduate study assumes.
- Solve, with your own hands. Pick problems from the library. Attempt every exercise unaided before reading any solution — the struggle is where the learning is.
- Check your working line by line. Solved problems here show every step, so you can find where your attempt diverged.
- Go deeper when ready. The research-to-problem series turns major papers into problems you can solve yourself.
How to read this site
Color is notation here, as in all Econschool materials: in every diagram, blue is person 1, red is person 2, green marks Pareto-efficient sets, and orange marks equilibria and endowments. Once you know the convention, you can read a new diagram at a glance.
Mathematics is set properly throughout. If a step looks compressed, it isn't — every solved problem shows the full working.
